GDD idea

Game play

The player will be moving from one end of the level to the other end of the level.
The player will encounter lots of enemies and bosses which the player will have to clear by attacking them with “Duo Characters” attack.


Duo characters game play

The purpose is to show that DET and DMD work together to as team to produce an end product.

The player will be controlling the duo characters as a team. The player will be able to swap “DET” & “DMD” instantly.

1) Player is in DMD character state

2) Player presses the swap character keyboard button


3) Player now becomes the DET character


4) Player can swap back to the DMD character with the same procedure


5) Player now becomes the DMD character



Duo Character attack

This is to emphasise that the students of different schools works together to complement one another in the industry in projects.

The complement of the inputs of each character will be combined to become one attack.


1. The player will use a skill-set from the first character.
2. The player will then swap the character.
3. The player will use a different character’s skill-set to combine into one attack.

1) Player selects the DET character first

2) Player inputs with the selected DET skill


3) Player swaps character


4) Player inputs a DMD skill


5) Combined skills attack is unleashed


Player stats

Throughout the game, regardless of the character the player has, the player will have share the same stat from start to end of the game levels.

· Health points : determines the player
· Inspiration points : determines the player has suffice points to unleash skills


Power ups

Throughout the game except during boss fights, the player will be able to collect power-ups to replenish health and inspiration.


Skill sets

A skill set of each school would allow six combinations attacks in total which is sufficient in this game.Attacks will consume an amount of inspiration points. This helps balance the game play and adds difficulty to the game.



Storyline of game



Technical solutions

Due to the file size of the game, levels are split into SWFs.
Firstly load the pre-loader and the first level assets.
Then During the game play of the first level, load the other levels of the game in the background.


Subject to change

The game will change to suit the theme SIDM with the resources available or to complement with the concept of SIDM.
Enemies are subjected to the animation of SIDM fusion 09.
